2023 President's Holiday Card Contest
The UHV Office of the President is kicking off the holiday season ahead of schedule with an exciting initiative. We're inviting UHV students to showcase their artistic talent by creating the artwork for the front of the UHV holiday card.
The student behind the chosen artwork will earn a $1,000 UHV scholarship! Additionally, a $500 UHV scholarship will be awarded to the second-place winner, while the third-place winner will receive some fantastic UHV swag.

Rules and Qualifications
Who May Enter
Any UHV student may submit artwork.
- First place – $1,000 UHV scholarship
- Second place – $500 UHV scholarship
- Third place – UHV swag
How to Enter
Entries will be accepted until midnight November 1st.
Some examples of acceptable artwork include:
- general illustrations
- winter scenes
- campus photography
No words or copy should be included in final submissions with the exception of “UHV” or “University of Houston-Victoria.” The artwork may include the official UHV logo. The artwork also should not make references to specific religious holidays.
- 5x7 or 7x5 inches with a bleed of .25 added all around.
- Important art info should be kept inside the bleed room.
- The artwork must be in CMYK color mode.
- File formats: TIF, JPEG, PDF, SVG or PNG.
- Submit via UHV Office 365 account.
Artwork that does not meet the above specifications will be disqualified. A.I. generated art will not be eligible to compete in this contest.
Past Contest Winners
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by the Office of the President. Entries will be judged on the artwork’s creativity and artistic merit. The winner will be notified by email or phone.
The deadline is midnight on November 1 every year.
UHV will retain all reproduction rights to submitted artwork with credit given to the artist. UHV agrees not to sell any of the artwork or a reproduction.
Artists warrant that they are the sole proprietor of the artwork and agree to assign all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the artwork to UHV. Entries must be an original concept and constitute an original work, and must not infringe on the protected rights of other artists or violate any applicable copyright laws.
