Airport Option 1

The International Programs Office provides a complimentary pick-up from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (Airport Code: IAH) at the start of the semester for international students.

Airport pick-ups are available ONLY for these dates (unless you are part of an exchange program):

Fall 2019: August 16th-21st (new students), Returning students must email IPO if they are arriving at a later date than listed date.

Rides requested for any dates outside the timeframes specified above are subject to a $50 charge. Airport pick-up services are available prior to the mandatory orientation scheduled by UHV. Please check your I-20/DS2019 for the start date. The start date listed on your immigration document is the mandatory orientation date, and you must make arrangements to arrive to UHV before this date listed. If you are unable to arrive prior to the listed date on your immigration document, you are responsible for your ride to UHV.

Exchanges, Fulbright, UGRAD, World Learning, and Other Special Program Participants:
If you are a part of an exchange program affiliated with UHV, airport pick-up services are available throughout the semester as specified by the terms of your program. There are no time or date restrictions as it is a part of the exchange agreement. We will take you to and from the IAH airport.

Airport Option 2

We strongly recommend you to purchase your flight directly to Victoria Regional Airport (VCT). Flights to VCT are available through Boutique Air for $39 to $59 one-way. When purchasing your Dallas-Forth Worth (DFW) or Houston (IAH) flight, check Boutique Air for a connecting flight to Victoria.

Airport Option 3

You can take the Greyhound Bus to Victoria from IAH. Be sure to calculate extra time between your flight and the allotted bus times, especially if you have to go through Customs. It is also an additional 15-20 minutes to take a shuttle from your arrival terminal to the bus terminal at IAH. The Greyhound Bus runs on a strict schedule a few times a day, so please keep this in mind while booking. A one-way ticket from Houston to Victoria using Greyhound can cost you $18-$21.

Pick-Up Request Form (Link Below)

We reserve vehicles and drivers for this service to international students. Do not expect that we will be able to accommodate for last-minute airport pick-up requests. Priority will be given to students who give advance notice of their request. Advance notice is 1-2 weeks. Requests submitted within a week of your airport date are not guaranteed this service. If you submit a late request then please be prepared to get to the university or to the airport using Airport Options 2 or 3.

Please include your personal contact information so that we can be sure that we can contact you on the specified day. Be sure to have a device on hand where you will be able receive emails from our office staff.

You must have a confirmation of your drop-off address. Students living on-campus must have their on-campus housing reservation finalized. Students living off-campus must have a drop-off address in order for UHV to drop you off at the location. The airport pick-up is only available for Victoria and up to 10 miles outside of its city limits.
UHV airport pick-up services are not available for other drop-off cities in Texas.

International Student Transportation Request Form

UHV Katy Students

For Katy students, we recommend using the Airport Shuttle for $55 to your destination at your own expense. According to our past and current international student trends, international students who enroll at UHV Katy are students with ties to the Houston/Katy community. In other words, our international students enrolling at our UHV Katy site more than likely have friends, family, or classmates to assist with transportation in the Houston/Katy Area.

If you are a new international student at UHV Katy and are not able to secure a ride from Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), please notify the International Programs Office 5 days prior to your departure from the U.S.
