Certification
Students who have a Master’s Degree and teaching certification can obtain Educational Diagnostician Certification through the Special Education Department
What does the program entail?
A Certification Plan is developed for students.
Students must contact faculty of the Special Education Department to determine course work.
Students must take a minimum of 12 semester hours through the Special Education Program in order to take the certification exam.
The total number of hours required for a Certification Plan will vary on a case by case basis depending on the students’ course work in their Master’s Degree as well as professional experience within the field.
Before you get started
For students to obtain an Educational Diagnostician Certification
- Hold a valid Texas teacher certificate
- Have a Master’s Degree
- Have taught a minimum of three years in an accredited school
- Be admitted to graduate study within the School of Education, Health Professions and Human Development
- Complete course work toward the Educational Diagnostician Certification
- Pass the TExES # 253
