International Transfer
UHV welcomes international transfer students from accredited institutions worldwide. International transfer students need to submit their official academic transcripts for evaluation, demonstrate English language proficiency, and meet specific international transfer admission requirements.
Dual Admission
UHV has dual admission agreements with select community colleges, which provide students with the opportunity to be admitted to both the community college and UHV simultaneously. This allows students to plan their academic path from the beginning and seamlessly transfer to UHV once they complete their community college requirements.
For Preliminary Determination of Graduation with Honors (commencement program only)
Honors candidates are identified by a preliminary grade point average through the second to last semester of coursework.
For students with 30 semester hours or more at UHV, the grade point average for preliminary honors determination will be calculated only on courses taken at UHV. For students with less than 30 semester hours at UH-Victoria, the grade point average for preliminary honors determination will be calculated on the last 45 (*) semester hours, including courses taken at UHV and any lower- or upper-division transfer courses, provided that the grade point average for UH-Victoria is at least a 3.50. All college courses attempted are included in the grade point average, including repeated courses.
(*) May be more than 45 semester hours as all coursework taken during a semester used to reach the 45 hours are included in the calculation. Also, if a student has coursework from more than one institution for a semester used to reach the 45 hours, the hours from all institutions for that semester will be included in the calculation.
For Final determination of Graduation with Honors
A final grade point average for determining graduation with honors will be calculated at the end of the graduation term.
For students with 45 semester hours or more at UH-Victoria, the grade point average for honors is calculated only on courses taken at UH-Victoria. All courses attempted at UHV are used in calculating the grade point average for honors, including repeated courses and courses that may not have been used to fulfill degree requirements.
For students with less than 45 semester hours at UH-Victoria, the grade point average for honors is calculated on the basis of the last 45 (*) semester hours, including courses taken at UH-Victoria and any lower- or upper-division transfer courses, provided that the student has at least 30 semester hours at UH-Victoria and the grade point average for UH-Victoria is at least a 3.50. All college courses attempted are included in the grade point average for honors, including repeated courses and courses that may not have been used to fulfill degree requirements.

Post-baccalaureate students earning a second baccalaureate degree may graduate with honors in accordance with the same criteria used for students earning their first baccalaureate degree.

Formative Assessment
Any assessment activity is done during the learning activity (class, course or program) for the purpose of monitoring and guiding learning while it is still in progress.
Example: An exam given at the end of a lesson or at the end of a major component with results used to give the student and instructor feedback on the mastery of intended learning outcomes to guide future learning activities.
Goals
General aims of the program or curriculum. They are the broad, long-range intended outcomes of a program, department, college or university. Goals are used primarily in policymaking and general program planning.
Example: The goal of the QEP is to improve students' problem-solving skills.
Inputs
Resources. The raw materials used to develop a program or intervention which can include staff, budget, facilities, etc. Input measures relate to the amount, cost, and attributes of resources used to perform an activity, provide a service, produce a product, or operate a program.
Example: Inputs (resources) for the Writing Lab Project include 4 instructors, a computer lab with 20 workstations, and $150,000 supply budget.
Learning Outcomes
Learning outcomes are the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and habits of mind that students have and take with them when they successfully complete a course or program (Suskie, 2010).
Mission
The mission is a holistic vision of the values and philosophy of the organization (Allen, 2004).
Objectives
Description of skills or knowledge a student will attain through participation in a program, course, or activity. They identify what is expected of the student at the end of instruction. Objectives are intended results or consequences of instruction, curricula, programs, or activities. They specify what is expected and describe what should be assessed.
Example: 45% of students complete the program within 5 years of enrollment based on transcript review.
Outputs
Products and services. Documentation of work done. Output measures are concerned with the results of the application of the input resources; they can be measured in terms of the amount of output produced and by attributes of that output. Output measures are results that can be counted or measured.
Example: Examples include the number of sessions in the program, the number of students completing the program and the number of hours of instruction delivered.
