What is the JAG Promise?

UHV guarantees full coverage of tuition and mandatory fees through grants and other financial assistance for eligible students with a family income of $65,000 or less.

JAG Promise

UHV guarantees all tuition and mandatory fees will be covered by grant assistance and other sources for eligible students with student and parent combined annual gross income of $65,000 or less.

Eligibility:

  • First time in college freshman with all necessary documents received by Dec. 1 for Spring or March 15 for Fall.
  • Must be a Texas resident.
  • Must complete a FAFSA application by January 15 for Fall admission.
  • Must complete the UHV scholarship application.
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student and degree-seeking.
  • Must have a student and parent combined annual gross income of $65,000 or less. (Family need is determined by the FAFSA/TASFA).
  • Renewable each year based on continued eligibility.
  • Must remain eligible for Federal Aid to include GPA and Satisfactory Academic Progress.

UHV Presidential Scholarship

The UHV Presidential Scholarship is a $5,000 merit-based scholarship that recognizes academic excellence.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a graduating high school student with a 3.75 GPA or higher.

  • Submit a 750-1000 word typed essay by May 1.

  • Complete the UHV scholarship application.

  • Renewable each year if the student maintains enrollment in 12+ credit hours and a 3.0 GPA or higher.

  • Scholarship is only applicable to Fall and Spring semesters.

UHV Housing Scholarship

Students can receive up to a $2,400 scholarship for UHV Jaguar Village housing expenses for the academic year. The scholarship can be awarded for up to a maximum of 4 years.

Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled full-time and attend classes in Victoria.

  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

  • Must remain in housing for the full semester of the award. If a student moves out or does not initially move into housing, a prorated amount of the scholarship, based on occupancy time, will be charged back to the student.

  • Scholarship is only applicable to Fall and Spring semesters.
