Graduate Admission Index

To determine an applicant’s eligibility for graduate admission, an Admissions Index is computed which combines the grade point average (GPA) on the last 60 semester hours with the GRE or other test score.

Admission Index formula for GRE tests taken on or after August 1, 2011 and are within 5 years:
(GPA x 200) + (15 x [the sum of verbal and quantitative sections only of the GRE - 260]).

Example for GRE taken on or after August 1, 2011:

GPA:  3.5 GRE: 142 Verbal and 137 Quantitative

(GPA x 200) + (15 x [Verbal + Quantitative of the GRE - 260])

(3.5 x 200) + (15 x [279 - 260]) = 700 + 285

 985 = Admissions Index

Admission Index formula for GRE tests taken prior to August 1, 2011 or GMAT exams (Only for Current UHV students or former UHV students who had sent their official GRE/GMAT/MAT scores prior to 5 year expiration):
(GPA x 200) + the sum of verbal and quantitative sections only of the GRE, or (GMAT x 2).
