Campus Life
Leadership Opportunities
Because the University of Houston-Victoria realizes the importance of leadership in the workplace and in the communities where we live, UHV provides students with a variety of leadership opportunities on and off campus as well as virtually. When opportunities arise, UHV will send student leaders to off campus conferences and retreats in order to further enhance their leadership skills. Students will represent UHV at House Bill hearings in Austin and at the public hearings on tuition increases. On campus or hybrid leadership opportunities include our annual ROAR Leadership Conference and our ROAR Certified Leader Program, which are both aimed at helping students enhance their marketability. UHV students also help organize and facilitate university events like Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month, Homecoming, Family Weekend, and the Student Organization and Leadership Banquet. Finally, UHV employs over 100 student workers each semester as tutors, student directors, lab assistants and more. Students develop valuable skills through participation as a student worker. We value our students and realize the importance of enhancing and promoting leadership skills. For more information on leadership opportunities, check out our Leadership Development page.
