Homecoming 2020 Peace, Love and Jaguars

The Jaguar Spirit Cup Competition

The Jaguar Spirit Cup Competition, sponsored by UHV Residence Life, is an annual Homecoming tradition that gives offices on campus the opportunity to show off their Jaguar spirit.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to decorate the outside or front area of their offices the week prior to Homecoming. Offices can register to compete on JagSyncStudents will be encouraged to visit each office that participates to receive a stamp on their Jaguar Spirit Cup Passport Card and cast their votes for the office they believe should win the Jaguar Spirit Cup. Students who visit every office will have an opportunity to win $50, $25, and $10 gift cards.

The Jaguar Spirit Cup will be given based on originality, Jaguar spirit, creativity, and overall appearance. Any office that has not won first place within the past three years will have an opportunity to win first place this year. The winning office will have its name engraved on the Jaguar Spirit Cup and will be able to display the cup for a year. Recognition will also be given to the second and third place offices, and all winners will be announced through campus email. This year, there will be a second trophy, titled, "Out of the Box". This will be a separate award from the Jaguar Spirit Cup and will be decided by the Department of Residence Life, based on creativity and originality. To ensure the fairness of the competition and promote creativity, each office will be allowed to have a maximum spending budget of $100.
