University Commons
University Commons, an 80,214-square-foot, three-story building broke ground in April 2017, and opened in August 2019. The building is located on the east side of Ben Wilson Street, directly across from the UHV University Center building. The first floor will include a food court; a market with a coffee bar featuring Starbucks coffee and grab-and-go food and convenience items; Jag Station bookstore; jaX's Game Hub; a multipurpose room with seating for up to 250 people; and study and lounge areas. The food court features Chick-fil-A. There is also space for a second and third restaurant to be determined in the future. On the second floor is the Center for Student Involvement, which contains the offices of Student Life, Student Affairs, Student Government Association, and The Den (resource area for student organizations).
Lastly, the new Library is located on the second and third floor of University Commons. The second floor features public computers, circulation and reference desks, and a markerspace, an area that offers library patrons an opportunity to create materials. The Victoria Regional History Center, offices, meeting rooms, study spaces, and the most-used books in the Library's collection are housed on the third floor. There is also a deck on the third floor that has an outdoor seating area that overlooks the rest of the campus.
