The University of Houston-Victoria offers more than 50 academic programs in addition to concentrations and certificates in the areas of business; education and health professions; liberal arts and social sciences; and natural and applied science. UHV provides accredited face-to-face and online programs to students in the Gulf Coast region and beyond. Since its founding in 1973, UHV has provided students with a quality higher education taught by talented faculty at a great value.

Location
A regional hub 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico, Victoria is a town of 65,000 located about two hours from Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. UHV also offers classes at an instructional site in the Houston suburb of Katy. Students have choices in how they attend UHV:

Several of UHV’s academic degree programs have drawn top rankings from organizations including College Consensus, Intelligent.com and Research.com.
Our Accreditations
Affordability
UHV offers some of the lowest tuition and fees in Texas, in addition to numerous scholarships and financial aid opportunities. More than $35 million in financial aid is awarded to students annually.
Athletics
UHV fields teams in baseball, softball, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s golf. The Jaguars are part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and the baseball, softball and soccer teams compete in the Red River Athletic Conference. The golf teams compete in the Association of Independent Institutions Conference.
Community Outreach
Computers & Connectivity
UHV has 23 computer labs. In addition, computers are available for use in all residence halls and University Center, University Commons, University North, University Northwest and University South. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout campus, including the residence halls.
Enrollment
UHV has 3,613 students (2,645 undergraduates and 968 graduates) from 18 states and 48 countries. The student body is 64 percent female and 36 percent male.
Special Designations
The U.S. Department of Education has designated UHV as a Hispanic-Serving Institution. Hispanics make up 40 percent of undergraduate enrollment.
Transfer Partnerships
UHV welcomes students transferring from numerous accredited community colleges and universities, including Victoria College, Alvin Community College, Blinn College, Coastal Bend College, Houston Community College, Lone Star College and Wharton County Junior College.
