Higher Education and Secondary Education
- All applicants must meet the general requirements for entrance to graduate study. Other programs will require additional prerequisites and application materials.
- Submit two letters of reference from practicing educators, such as from supervisors or other professional school personnel.
- Provide a statement of purpose, discussing your reason for pursuing your chosen degree and your expectations of the program.

With further specialization in your chosen content area, you could be an instructional coach, lead teacher in secondary public schools, teach dual-credit courses, or be an instructor at the community college level.

Plan:
15 - 18 semester hours*
Selected by advisement from the teaching discipline of the student. These will be six courses outside the College of Education & Health Professions. (Courses valid for dual credit teaching and community college instruction must be at the graduate level, 6300 or above.)
*If student completes 15 hours in teaching discipline area rather than 18 hours, he must take an additional 3 hours: CUIN 6305 Professional Research.
