Biography

Dr. Asahi Tomitaka earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Yokohama National University, Japan, in 2011. She had postdoctoral trainings in the field of Biomaterials, Materials Science and Engineering, and Nanomedicine. Prior to joining UHV, she was an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University (FIU). She is currently an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. During her Ph.D. and postdoctoral training, she was awarded the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Research Fellowships. Her work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Miami Center for AIDS Research, and FIU Research Center in Minority Institutions.
