A degree specializing in Education 4-8 is a flexible degree option, designed to help you tailor your academic experience to your career goals. You can follow a path or forge a brand new one and teach all over the state of Texas in public and private schools.
First Year - Freshman
First Semester at Blinn
- ENGL 1301 - English Composition I
- Life and Physical Science Core Course - Choose a course from the Life and Physical Science Core Curriculum (UHV Requires a 4-hour science course w/lab)
- Creative Arts Core Course - Choose a course from the Creative Arts Core Curriculum
- HIST Core Course - HIST 1301, 1302, or 2301
- MATH 1324 - Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences
Second Semester at Blinn
- ENGL 1302 - English Composition II
- Life and Physical Science Core Course - Choose a course from the Life and Physical Science Core Curriculum (UHV Requires a 4-hour science course w/lab)
- SPCH 1315 - Public Speaking
- HIST Core Course - HIST 1301, 1302, or 2301
- MATH 1350 - Mathematics for Teachers I
Second Year - Sophomore
First Semester at Blinn
- MATH 1351 - Mathematics for Teachers II
- EDUC 1301 - Introduction to the Teaching Profession
- Life and Physical Science Core Course* - Select a course from the Social and Behavioral Sciences core area (excluding SPCH 1318).
