University official talks transition with City podcast

Jim Nelson, Texas A&M University System Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, recently was featured in an episode of Town Talk, the City of Victoria’s official podcast. During the interview, Nelson spoke with Ashley Strevel, the City’s director of communications and public affairs, about the University of Houston-Victoria’s transition into Texas A&M University-Victoria. During the interview, they discussed multiple elements of the transition, from the new branding and plans to update signage on campus to new academic programs that The Texas A&M University System plans to help the university add in the coming years. Nelson also promoted the upcoming Jag Fest, which will be a community event to kick off the new semester on Sept. 4 from 6-9 p.m. in De Leon Plaza in downtown Victoria.
