UHV's got talent: Staff Council wraps up 2nd annual talent show

2nd Annual Faculty & Staff Art & Talent Show
Julie Buchhorn Wardi, University of Houston-Victoria international student coordinator, sings “A Ph.D.,” a parody rendition of "Part of Your World," from "The Little Mermaid" using her own lyrics during the 2nd Annual Faculty & Staff Art & Talent Show on April 8 at UHV University South. The event, hosted by UHV Staff Council, saw a total of 12 visual artists and performers. Visual artists included: Heather Crow, photography; Lauren Emerson, fiber arts; Nicole Eugene, fiber arts; Joann Olson, fiber arts and Mik Samaniego-Lira, digital art. Performers included: Greg Garcia, singing and instrumental; Devlin Flanary, singing; Julie Buchhorn Wardi, singing; Nicole Eugene and Anthony Madrid, singing, and Harry Bashaw and Tom Schilb, singing. Schilb also acted as the show's master of ceremonies.

The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 50 academic programs in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development. UHV provides face-to-face classes at its Victoria campus, as well as an instructional site in Katy, Texas, and online classes that students can take from anywhere. UHV supports the American Association of State Colleges and Universities Opportunities for All initiative to increase awareness about state colleges and universities and the important role they have in providing a high-quality and accessible education to an increasingly diverse student population, as well as contributing to regional and state economic development.
