UHV student present AI research at symposia

Aradhana Sharma, a graduate student from the University of Houston-Victoria, stands with her poster showcasing her research during the weeklong Waste Management Symposia in Phoenix, Ariz. During the symposia, Sharma gave two oral presentations of her research and a poster presentation. Her research focused on the innovative applications of artificial intelligence in nuclear waste management. She also networked with professionals in the field, learning about the latest advancements and contributed to discussions about AI-driven solutions for environmental and nuclear sector challenges. Her research was conducted under the mentorship of Hardik Gohel, UHV associate professor of data science, and the Applied AI research team in the UHV College of Natural & Applied Science.

The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 50 academic programs in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development.
