UHV Volunteer Week
Helenavi Sumilong, a University of Houston-Victoria communications junior, works to put different toiletry items inside individual bags on April 11 to be donated to Mid-Coast Family Services. As part of National Volunteer Month in April, the university held their own Volunteer Week during the second week of April organizing volunteer opportunities both on and off campus, with a focus on supporting local community services. UHV Volunteer Week kicked off on Tuesday, April 8, giving students an opportunity to volunteer at the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. On Wednesday, April 10, students were at the Texas Zoo and on the final day, students were seen in the lobby of University Commons preparing Kindness Kits to donate.
