This spring, data science students had the opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience by partnering with Sysco, a global leader in food distribution and restaurant supplies, for their senor and capstone projects. For the first time, UHV integrated real-world business challenges into its COSC 6380 Capstone Course for graduate students and COSC 4360 Senior Project for undergraduates. The students took on data-driven problems such as supply chain analytics to customer purchasing behavior to strengthen both their technical expertise and understanding of data-science's role in business decision-making in the food distribution industry.
