Michael Garcia, a University of Houston-Victoria student who recently graduated this past May, puts in a morning workout session Wednesday inside the Health & Wellness Center. The university has scheduled an official grand opening for the Health & Wellness Center for fall 2025. Currently, UHV is offering limited summer hours to students, faculty and staff to explore the space and what it offers. A UHV identification card is required for entry, and the center is not open to the public. The hours currently are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center is closed on Sundays, and the schedule is tentative and subject to change.

The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 50 academic programs in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development. UHV provides face-to-face classes at its Victoria campus, as well as an instructional site in Katy, Texas, and online classes that students can take from anywhere. UHV supports the American Association of State Colleges and Universities Opportunities for All initiative to increase awareness about state colleges and universities and the important role they have in providing a high-quality and accessible education to an increasingly diverse student population, as well as contributing to regional and state economic development.
