Online Master’s Degrees ranks institutions based on self-reported data that colleges and universities provide to the U.S. Department of Education. To be ranked, universities must be accredited and offer the ranked subject at least partially online. Eligible schools were ranked based on criteria including affordability, admission rates, number of students taking online courses and available student services, including academic counseling, career placement and the student-to-faculty ratio.
The UHV College of Business’ Strategic Master of Business Administration was ranked the top program, both as an entrepreneurship degree and as the top online MBA program in Texas. In its analysis, the website recognized the excellence of the program’s faculty and their teaching methods, including the use of simulations, case studies and special projects that focus on the real business world. The college is accredited by AACSB International–The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The program can be completed in 30 hours for a traditional business concentration or 36 hours for concentrations that are offered in conjunction with the College of Natural & Applied Science.
“I am very proud of UHV’s MBA program,” said Xavier Garza-Gomez, interim dean of the business college. “Our diverse faculty has strong academic and industry backgrounds, which enhance students’ learning experiences. Students hone their skills while completing their own work of fiction or nonfiction and participating in workshops with other students and the program’s faculty. The program is available to complete both online and in person in Victoria.
“UHV’s creative writing program is an excellent example of how collaboration and shared perspective can sharpen the skills of our students,” said Kyoko Amano, dean of the college. “Our students are inspiring with their many approaches to writing and sharing their experiences, and our faculty have a passion for guiding and developing the next generation of writers.”
