UHV ranked one of most popular colleges in state
The University of Houston-Victoria has been named the 12th most popular college in the state of Texas this year, according to a recent ranking by Research.com, a leading platform in the field of academic research and education.
“The determination and perseverance of UHV students propels our university forward,” said Karla DeCuir, interim vice president for enrollment management. “This acknowledgment is truly exciting, as it emphasizes our dedication to enhancing accessibility to higher education for students and families across the entire state, and it's reassuring to see this effort being recognized.”
The university also was included in the website’s Best College in Texas and Best Value College in Texas lists. In addition to the Texas lists, the university was placed in the Most Popular College in the South, Best College in the South and Best Value College in the South rankings.
The rankings rely on metrics that include financial aid, acceptance rates, number of applicants to each institution, graduation rates and whether these institutions are coeducational. All these factor into determining how committed a college is to provide affordability, accessibility and inclusivity for its students.
“We are honored by the most recent ranking. I believe it reflects the emphasis we put on serving our students and making sure we get them from where they are to where they need to be in their lives,” UHV President Bob Glenn said. “I also believe it is a reflection of the exceptional people we have here on our faculty and staff. I am very proud of my colleagues.”
