Biography
Dr. Viola joined the UHV faculty in 2014. Dr. Viola is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in the state of Texas. She received her doctorate degree in Educational Psychology with the option of School Psychology from Oklahoma State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship with Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. Dr. Viola has gained extensive experience in working in public and private school settings with all ages of students. Dr. Viola’s research interests pertains to children, families, improving education, and the lives of children. Areas of specific interest include distance education, Responsiveness to Intervention (RtI), parental involvement, and academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
Dr. Viola is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), National Association for School Psychologists (NASP), Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP), and Trainers of School Psychologists (TSP). Dr. Viola also serves as a Review Board Member for the Texas Association of School Psychology (TASP) Journal.
