Biography

Dr. Parsonson teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, including courses in Child & Adolescent Development, Tests & Measurements, Ethics in the Practice of Psychology, as well as Introductory and Advanced Assessment.

Dr. Parsonson was a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist in private practice for over 25 years in Canada before she moved to Victoria. She was an expert witness in all levels of the Court system for many years, with extensive clinical experience working with young offenders and sex offenders. She also received certification in Clinical Hypnosis.

Dr. Parsonson is a member of the American Psychological Association. She is Past-President of the Canadian Federation of Clinical Hypnosis – Alberta Division and became a Fellow of the Canadian Federation of Clinical Hypnosis in 2012.

She has written journal articles, book chapters and magazine articles. Her research interests are in the areas of forensics and cross-cultural psychology.
