Admissions

M.Ed. in Special Education, Autism Spectrum Disorders

  • All applicants must meet the general requirements for entrance to graduate study. Other programs will require additional prerequisites and application materials. Returning for additional studies? See Readmission of Former Graduate Students

Autism Spectrums Disorders Concentration

9 semester hours:

  • SPED 6336 Behavior Applications; Focus on Autism and Developmental Disabilities
  • SPED 6337 Teaching Strategies for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • SPED 6339 Communication Strategies for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

Total: 36 semester hours

Additional Requirements:

Master Comprehensive Exam to be taken within six hours of completing the program.

Those students who already have a Master’s Degree can enroll at UHV as non-degree seeking students to take the ASD course sequence.
