
CACREP Program Accreditation
Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)
CACREP accredits over 900 master’s and doctoral degree programs in counseling and its specialties offered by 416 colleges and universities across the United States.
- The Professional School Counseling program, and previous 48-credit hour Community Counseling program, gained CACREP accreditation in 2010.
- The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program gained CACREP accreditation in 2016.
CACREP provides leadership and promotes excellence in professional preparation through the accreditation of counseling and related educational programs. As an accrediting body, CACREP is committed to the development of standards and procedures that reflect the needs of a dynamic, diverse, and complex society.
CACREP encourages and promoted the continuing development and improvement of preparation programs; and prepares counseling and related professionals to provide services consistent with the ideal of optimal human development.
