Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT)
**Special Notice: Texas Educator Certification Program Vendor Transition - Management of the Texas educator certification examinations will transition from ETS to a new vendor, Pearson, beginning September 1, 2018. Please refer to the newly updated Texas Educator Certification Examination Program Transition Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Educator Testing Transition flyer for information regarding the transition. Ongoing updates will be provided by both vendors and the TEA in the coming weeks.
The University of Houston-Victoria is an official testing site for the Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) on behalf of Educational Testing Services (ETS). The BTLPT is a computer-based exam that replaced the TOPT in July 2010.
These computer-based administrations are generally held five times a year in the University Center Building (Building 1 on the campus map) in RM 201.

Things to Know Before Test Day
Examinees should report to the University Center Building by 9:30 a.m. No examinees will be admitted after 10:00 a.m.
Leave All Personal Items In Your Vehicle. You will ONLY need a VALID photo ID for admittance (see ID Requirements). NO purses, bags, cell phones, watches, jewelry (except engagement or wedding rings), smartwatches, fitbits or electronic devices allowed. Eyeglasses may be required to be removed for close visual inspection. Clothing and other personal items that include, but are not limited to, hair accessories, neckties, bowties, hats, scarves, jackets and outerwear are subject to inspection.
Pencils and scratch paper will be provided.
Cell phones or any kind of electronic communication devices are not allowed in the testing center. All cell phones should be left at home or in a vehicle. Using a cell phone or possessing a cell phone or other electronic communication device during testing is grounds for dismissal.
