UHV Student Organizations
911 Yoga –The goal of 911 Yoga is to help individuals de-stress and build strength while engaging in yoga promoting inner balance, flexibility, and health.
African Student Association – The African Student Association (ASA) is a cultural organization committed to the integration of African students on campus. African Student Association works to promote African culture by educating the campus and bringing all African students and well-wishers of African culture together as one.
Anime Nuts: International Media Entertainment – The goals of this organization shall be to share the culture of anime, manga, and cosplay with those who are new to it, provide a safe place for people to look for new interests and create a solidified community for like-minded individuals to gather together.
Artists Anonymous – Artists Anonymous (AA) is a club comprised of anyone interested in arts and all creative mediums including design, drawing, painting, typography, writing, and more.
Automobile Enthusiast Association – The Automobile Enthusiast Association exists to bring people together and share their enthusiasm and knowledge of cars. They provide an uplifting community with the opportunity to learn the basics of car etiquette.
Baptist Student Ministries – Providing a welcoming environment to study, relax and build a connection with local churches and ministries as well as community service opportunities.
Black Student Union – The Black Student Union (BSU) is an educational, cultural, political, social, and community service organization whose mission is to enhance the experience and address the needs of Black students, give them voice and power in the community, and create a safe space to promote friendship and solidarity among black students while bridging gaps between communities.
Business Student Association – The Business Student Association (BSA) seeks to promote business education by providing students with the opportunity to interact with local business leaders and to network with other business students.
Christians on Campus – The purpose of Christians on Campus is to meet, encourage others, receive nourishment from the Bible and grow in Christ. Christians on Campus practices faith, receives all believers in Christ, and educates others about Christ.
CJ Society - The purpose and goals of CJ Society shall be to bring criminal justice majors together, to provide networking opportunities, to participate in community service, and to be active in our school and community.
Computer Science and STEM Organization - A technology-based organization that aims to inform UHV students on current events happening within Computer Science and STEM. This organization challenges these students by presenting them with situations which will enhance their technological skills.
Creative Writing Association – The Creative Writing Association is an organization created for students at the University of Houston-Victoria to interact with peers who have an equal passion for creative writing, from all genres of fiction writing, to non-fiction, poetry, and screenplay writing. The organization is geared to enlighten students on the fundamentals of writing, while introducing different concepts, tools, and styles of writing.
Dungeons and Dragons – The purpose of this organization is to bring new players into the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) game, show them how to play, and how much fun it can be to play D&D.
Gender & Sexuality Alliance – The mission of the Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) at UHV is to provide a strong, supportive community on campus to increase awareness and acceptance, as well as to provide resources regarding LGBTQ+ issues and culture.
Health & Kinesiology Club – The Health and Kinesiology Club is a professional-setting club for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine and sports management.
Hispanic Student Association – The Hispanic Student Association (HSA) encourages and raises awareness of Hispanic cultures on campus and in the Victoria community by creating and promoting cultural events.
History and Humanities Association – The History and Humanities Association enhances a student's knowledge of all types of historical and cultural events through social events, opportunities for educational experiences outside of the classroom, and chances to learn more about the community in which they live.
International Student Organization - The International Student Organization's main objective is to enrich international experience at UHV, and promote cultural diversity on campus.
Jaguar Activities Board – The Jaguar Activities Board (JAB) is a non-profit, umbrella organization for campus activities and multicultural affairs sponsored by the Department of Student Life. JAB serves as a real-world professional development opportunity for its student members. It is the goal of JAB to enhance students’ co-curricular experience by providing diverse, unique and exciting entertainment and programming opportunities to reach, energize, and invigorate the entire student body.
Jaguar Cheer Team – The Jaguar Cheer Team is a co-curricular activity that supports a student's academic career. As a member of Jaguar Cheer Team, it allows its member to continue to be a responsible, mature, and independent adult and will maximize their own opportunity for student growth, change, and leadership, support the intercollegiate athletics of UHV, and lead in a positive, vocal support for the teams.
Jaguar Cubers – The purpose of Jaguar Cubers is to teach people how to solve a Rubik's cube and improve those who already know how to solve it. We will also train the ones that are willing to put their skills to the test in an official competition.
Jaguar Esports – UHV eSports is an organization that allows for students to enjoy the competitive scene of gaming. Whether it be watching, playing, competing or simply discussing strategy, eSports is the place to learn how to be a better player.
Jaguar Tennis – As an organization at the University of Houston-Victoria, we try to practice tennis weekly! We encourage socialization and being physically active.
K-Pop Club – This club shows appreciation of the music genre K-Pop. Members of the club will analyze music videos, discuss fan theories, and learning Korean.
Kappa Chi – Kappa Chi is Greek for Proclaim Christ. Our student organization provides Jags the opportunity to get together and learn about what it means to live out a life for God. We meet weekly for a time of short devotionals, fellowship, snacks, giveaways and much more, all Jags are more than welcome to participate.
Kappa Delta Pi – The purpose of Kappa Delta Pi is to promote excellence in and recognition of outstanding contributions to education. Kappa Delta Pi endeavors to maintain a high degree of professional fellowship among its members, to quicken professional growth and to honor achievement in educational work.
Math and Science Club – The Math and Science Club is an organization that provides students with opportunities to broaden and enrich their participation in the world of mathematics and science.
Multicultural Advisory Board – The Multicultural Advisory Council is a diverse group of leaders that seeks to broaden traditional definitions of the term multicultural. MAC 1) hosts educational, cultural, and social programs, 2) fosters experiences and prepares students to thrive in diverse environments, and 3) helps students gain better understanding and appreciation of a variety of identities.
National Society of Leadership and Success – The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is an organization that helps people discover and achieve their goals. The Society offers life-changing lectures from the nation's leading presenters and a community where like-minded, success-oriented individuals come together and help one another succeed.
Nu Gamma Nu – Nu Gamma Nu is an honor society for students of the biological sciences. Its activities stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation in the biological sciences, and promote the dissemination of information and new interpretations among students of the life sciences.
Playwriting Association – This organization provides the opportunity for students to be a part of the creation and production of collaborative piece. Something that will hopefully inspire students to seek out new and productive forms of self expression.
Pre-Health Student Association – The Pre-Health Student Association (PHSA) creates a sense of community for all students pursuing pre-health careers, to orient students about the requirements needed to apply and succeed in their health school of choice, and to deepen students’ understanding of the pre-health field.
Pre-Occupational Therapy Club – This organization provides students with the opportunity to learn more about the field of Occupational Therapy through presentations by Occupational Therapists, visiting different types of therapy settings, and doing community service activities in an Occupational Therapy setting.
Psi Chi – The International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi) is an international honor society that encourages, stimulates, and maintains excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and advances the science of psychology.
Resident Hall Association – The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is a non-profit, elected, governing body for the residence halls here at UHV. The purpose is to promote communication between the Department of Residence Life and the residents.
Rotaract Club – Rotaract is an organization that provides community service opportunities, develops the leadership and professional skills of members, and introduces its members to fellow UHV students and leaders within the community.
Student Government Association – The Student Government Association (SGA) is a nonprofit, elected, governing body whose purpose is to promote communications between constituents of UHV, to enhance the unique educational environment of UHV, and to address specific needs of students in order to provide a voice to and for the student body with respect to academic and cultural matters.
Table Top – Table Top is an open community-driven organization that strives to provide a common meeting place for those interested in table-top games as well as trading card games. Table Top is ready to try as many games as it can as long as it has people willing to play them!
Texas Women In Computing – TWIC is a female student organization to educate, empower, and encourage women in the field of Computer Science; where women has been the minority over the last several decades. Our members hope to promote the growth of women in Computer Science by educating young girls through volunteer activities.
United Campus Ministry – The United Campus Ministry is a relaxed group where members can enjoy each others company and express their beliefs in a safe haven.
UHV Film Club – The UHV Film Club exists to expose UHV students and faculty to movies that they might otherwise not encounter.
Walkie Talkie Journalist – A literary journalism club open for UHV students to have a creative outlet.
Women's Empowerment – Women's Empowerment is an inclusive organization that aims to be a haven for women to discuss the issues affecting their community; whether that be sexuality, sexism, education, stereotypes, etc. Women's Empowerment stands as a platform to not only discuss these issues but to address them accordingly. In addition to inspiring, educating and most importantly supporting every woman it comes in contact with.
Xi Alpha Rho – The purpose for this organizations will be to get involved in giving back the Victoria community, creating character with in our members, academically motivate every member to continue to further their educations, as well to create a sense of sisterhood where women can embrace who they are and who they want to be.
