Ally Training
UHV has numerous students, staff, and faculty members that have committed to equality on our campus. They have taken the pledge to become a Jaguar Ally. Allies have gone through extensive training and have agreed to provide a safe, supportive, and accepting place for LGBTQ+ individuals to come and talk about concerns without fear of negative reactions. Allies represent themselves by placing the following placard on their office door:
If this placard is on the outside of the door, it is a safe place.
There are many benefits to becoming a Jaguar Ally. For more information on becoming a Jaguar Ally, contact the Safe Zone Committee Chair, Freddie Cantu.
