High School Robotics Course
The 2019-2020 Robotics, Programming and Simulation Courses/Research Projects are a great opportunity for area high school and middle school/early high school students to learn how to use advanced robotics tools and engineering concepts to create Artificial Intelligence applications. Up to twelve students from high schools in the area will be selected. This course is funded by a grant from Alcoa Foundation.
LEGO EV3 robotics kits will be used for the robotics portion of the program. Students will learn how to program autonomous robots using different software and Artificial Intelligence Programming. This year students will be using the Python programming language in developing their robots.
Applications for the Robotics Course/ Research Project are available now. Click on this link to apply. Once applications go through the review process, students are chosen and will be notified by e-mail/phone. The Robotics, Programming and Simulation Courses/Research Projects will begin 10/14/2019 until 4/27/2020.
Application Procedures (Application window has closed)
Please sign these two documents before applying:
- The parental consent form signed by a parent of guardian for each student (Release and Indemnification Agreement ).
- The photograph consent form either signed, or declined by a parent or guardian (Image Authorization).
To be considered for the program, please fill in the application form that is available here. Please read the instructions carefully and upload all the required documents. All fields and required and the system will not allow you to submit an incomplete application. A photo release form and a liability release form must be signed by you and you parent/guardian and returned before you can participate in the course. If all documentation is not completed on the first day of the course, you will not be able to participate.
