Since I can remember, I have always had two sides: a creative soul fueled by art, design, color, music, and the other is to help communities reach their goals for a healthy and successful life. For a long time, I thought I had to choose between the two. While studying at the University of Houston-Victoria, I have learned that isn't the case. I am learning and realized that I had found my career path. In summary, I am a creator inspired by the rural communities around me. I have a fire that wants to see the rural communities thrive and see the creative ways they step out of their comfort zone to reach the goals they so badly want to achieve.

However, it has taken a non-traditional way of life for me to get to this point. I graduated high school in a village in Michigan. I then moved to Texas after graduation and started in the accounting world at a car dealership. I found I was good at it, but something was missing. I was not excited about my career. I then transitioned to a veterinary technician where my love for animals could shine, and I could help when an animal needed assistance. I really enjoyed the fast pace and the veterinary world, always changing, always moving forward. I knew I enjoyed caring for the animals but still felt something was missing. I transitioned into the higher education industry. This was such a growth experience. I truly enjoy working with the rural communities. I enjoy helping them find ideas and guiding them to their growth. Being the connector in the communities we serve is a great feeling. We are a resource to not only the rural communities but to the nation. Something I have learned is to never stop learning and never stop sharing your knowledge with others.
