ROAR First-Year Festival

Students participating in Jaguar Journey 2019-08-23

At the ROAR First-Year Festival, we aim to engage with first-year students and their families by connecting them to resources and opportunities intended to help them acclimate to campus and rise to success academically and socially while in school at UHV. This in-person event gives students and their families the opportunity to connect with the university and its faculty and staff a few weeks prior to housing move in and the beginning of the fall semester. We hope it will help ease the transition into the Jaguar family.

The ROAR First-Year Festival provides students and their families ample interaction with UHV administrators, university programs, and the Victoria community in an effort to build a sense of pride and support for our new first-year students. This event will feature live music and entertainment, campus tours, panel discussions, City of Victoria bus tour, presentations, and a resource fair.

All first-year students who register and attend will receive a free t-shirt, lunch, and other giveaway items. Additionally, each student will receive vouchers for up to two free t-shirts and lunches for friends or family members that attend the festival with them.

The ROAR First-Year Festival will take place on Saturday, August 7 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on the Victoria campus. Further details will be emailed directly to first-year students who register to participate. A registration link and festival date can be found below:

Students must register themselves and their friends or family members ahead of time to participate. Registration for the ROAR First-Year Festival closes on July 31.
