Can I use my iPhone to connect to my student email?

  1. Go to "Settings"
  2. Then "Mail, Contacts, Calendar"
  3. Click "Add Account"
  4. Select "Microsoft Exchange"
  5. Email = your email address @uhv.edu, i.e. 012345@uhv.edu
  6. Server = m.outlook.com
  7. domain = UHV
  8. username = your email address (same as above)
  9. Password = your password
  10. Description = Student Email
  11. Set SSL to ON

How can I get the new email to go to my Android phone?

Android Phone

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Then Add Account (under Accounts section)
  3. Select "Corporate" or 'Exchange'
  4.  
    • Students will want to enter their information as follows:
      • Domain\username = uhv\0182243@uhv.edu
      • password = your password
      • server = m.outlook.com
      • Check "Use secure connection (SSL)"
      • Uncheck "Accept all SSL certificates"
      • Client Certificate = none
      • Andriod Student Email Settings
    • Faculty and Staff:
      • Domain\username = uhv\DoeJ (UHV User Name)
      • password = your password
      • server = mail.uhv.edu
      • Check "Use secure connection (SSL)"
      • Uncheck "Accept all SSL certificates"
      • Client Certificate = none
      • Port = 443
      • Andriod Faculty Staff Exchange Settings

If I unplug my office phone and plug it into another outlet, will it work?

All moves and changes of phones needs to done by Technology Services. Telephone Service Request Forms are available on the Intranet under Technology Services

 

Whenever I make a phone call to a certain place I hear static, is my phone broken?

No, usually this occurs when there is water in the lines or from calling a remote area. Sometimes a bigger city’s phone line could be down and rerouted causing static. Static in phone connections is handled by of Southwestern Bell or AT&T.
