Registering for Student Teaching Courses

You must register for 6 semester credit hours of student teaching:

  • A 3 hour course that covers one portion of the student teaching supervision experience in the field:
    • ESED 4303,
    • MSED 4303, or
    • SEDU 4303 for either the Victoria or Katy area.
  • A 3 hour course that covers the other portion of student teaching supervision experience in the field as well as the Student Teaching Seminar obligation:
    • ESED 4304,
    • MSED 4304, or
    • SEDU 4304 for either the Victoria or Katy sections.
  • The Student Teaching Seminar meets periodically throughout the semester at selected sites as established by the Director of Field Based Experiences and/or the instructors for the Seminar.

ESED 4304 Early School Education Student Teaching

* If doing an ESL degree plan – CUIN 4303 (Student teaching in ESL) replaces ESED 4303.
* If doing a Special Education degree plan – SPED 4304 (Student teaching: Exceptional Children) replaces ESED 4303.

4-8:

MSED 4303* Middle School Education Student Teaching
MSED 4304** Middle School Education Student Teaching

* If doing an ESL degree plan – CUIN 4303 (Student teaching in ESL) replaces MSED 4303.
