Pathways to Success

Become a valuable member of the University of Houston-Victoria student body and get the preparation you need for landing a quality job in the allied health industry through the Allies Building Allied Health Pathways to Success program.

High school students taking classes at Victoria College, VC students and recent VC graduates can enroll in the Pathways to Success program and then transfer to UHV to get a Bachelor of Science in health studies or kinesiology with concentration in exercise sports science. After completing a Bachelor’s degree at UHV students can apply for admittance into the graduate program in order to pursue a UHV Master of Education in clinical mental health counseling.

While at Victoria College or UHV, a graduate student mentor will help you with course selection, and provide college and career guidance. The Pathways program will allow you to gain valuable experience from qualified mentors and achieve your educational goals.

Community health partner companies such as Citizens Medical Center and Mid-Coast Family Services will provide job shadowing, allowing you to follow employees during the day and train with them. This could help you get a job with one of these community health partners in the future. At the community health companies, you also will attend educational workshops and get on-site instruction about basic skills and career education to help with your academic performance and vocational skills.
