Honors Track

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the UHV Arts and Sciences Honors Track.

Are you driven to excel at academic work? Are you looking for ways to increase your engagement with other students and your professors? Are you interested in getting a leg-up on job and graduate school applications? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then the UHV Honors Track might be for you.

The Arts and Sciences Honors Track is a program designed to supplement all Arts and Sciences programs for students who are interested in academic success. The Honors Track provides unique opportunities for Students to work closely with faculty members, work on unique research projects, as well as prepare for careers and graduate school.

Students on the Honors Track will have special opportunities to work closely with their professors. Students will, in select classes, develop special supplementary assignments and projects to take the place of regular coursework. Honors students do not simply do more work—they work with their teachers to do work suited to their individual needs and interests.

Graduates of the Honors Track will have several advantages. Not only do Honors Track graduates get special recognition at Arts and Sciences events and at graduation, but also there are special academic colloquia and social events. Honors Students also develop close relationships with their instructors and other Honors students. These relationships are beneficial when it comes time to apply for graduate school, professional programs, and jobs.

Below are some of the details, requirements, and benefits of participating in the Honors Track. If you have any questions or want to join, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Justin Bell, PhD
Director of the Arts and Sciences Honors Track
