Virtual Commencement from UHV President Bob Glenn

Dear UHV Graduates, Students, Faculty and Staff:

We are pleased to inform you that we are planning a virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 15, for all 2020 and spring 2021 graduates.

As many of you know, we made the difficult decision last year to postpone our spring and then our fall in-person commencement ceremonies because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that commencement is an incredible accomplishment and the highlight of many students’ college experience, but we had to make decisions based on keeping everyone safe. We also do not expect conditions to allow an in-person ceremony on May 15, which is why we are moving to a virtual ceremony.

UHV expects to be able to hold in-person commencement ceremonies sometime during the fall 2021 semester. Any 2020 or spring 2021 graduate who participates in the May 15 virtual commencement ceremony also may choose to participate in the in-person commencement ceremonies when they are scheduled.

We look forward to having these in-person commencement ceremonies and will notify everyone about the date. We also will continue to update the graduation website.

Until then, all 2020 and spring 2021 graduates will receive information about the May 15 virtual commencement ceremony as planning moves forward.

If you are a student graduating this spring who has questions about the virtual ceremony, please contact Michael Wilkinson, senior director of student services and judicial affairs. If you have questions about degree conferral, diplomas or honors, please contact Student Records.

Sincerely,
Bob Glenn
