University to Move to Phase 3 from UHV President Bob Glenn

Dear UHV Faculty, Staff and Students,

Upon recommendation from the Reopening Taskforce and review of COVID-19 data for the Victoria and Katy communities, the Executive Committee has decided to move UHV to Phase 3 of the university’s Phased Reopening Plan. We will move to Phase 3 starting on Tuesday.

In Phase 3, UHV will continue to offer classes through a mix of hybrid (online/hybrid – traditional), real-time online (online – virtual) and traditional online modes but with classroom occupancy moving from 15 percent to 30 percent. The number of faculty and staff on campus also will increase to up to 30 percent. Employees who can work remotely should continue to do so. For students, faculty and staff who come to campus, current social distancing guidelines, face covering requirements and increased cleaning will continue.

We will continue to monitor conditions closely, and if at any time we see conditions deteriorating, we will adjust our phases until conditions improve. We expect that UHV will be in Phase 4 by the start of the fall semester.

Thank you for everything you are doing and continue to do to make UHV a safe place for us all.

Sincerely,
Bob Glenn
