Student Resources from UHV President Bob Glenn

Dear UHV Students,

Welcome back from spring break. I hope all of you are settling into the first day of online UHV classes. I know that this is a challenging time and that you’ve receive a lot of information today, but I wanted to give a couple of updates about additional services available to help you:

  • The UHV Library in University Commons is open noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The library is closed on Saturday. In addition, all electronic resources of library subscriptions and databases continue to be available 24/7. Virtual reference services are extended to noon to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday, and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
  • The Jag Station bookstore in University Commons also is open and is available 24/7 at UHVCampusStore.com. Please visit the website for in-store hours. The website is offering free shipping on all items with no minimum purchase. In addition, students can access up to seven free eBooks for a designated period, and the store is offering free shipping return labels and extending the nonreturn period without penalty to increase returns by mail. Finally, Jag Station makes deliveries on the Victoria campus. Students may order online, and call the store at 361-485-4591 to get their order delivered.
  • Shuttle Services is operating on the Victoria campus but on a limited schedule with interim social distancing measures in place. The Jaguar Village and University Commons lines is running from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Friday, and 12:45 to 6:15 p.m. Sunday. The Gold Line (shopping) also remains active. On Monday and Thursday, students can visit Walmart at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. On Wednesday, students can visit H-E-B Plus at 10 a.m.
