COVID-19

Governor's Executive Order

Dear UHV Faculty, Staff and Students,

Pursuant to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order (GA-36) and effective immediately, UHV is no longer mandating the wearing of face coverings. While we move forward to make appropriate edits to our COVID-19 protocols, any protocol that requires face coverings at UHV or UHV Katy will no longer be enforced; however, you may continue to wear a face covering if you wish.

UHV encourages faculty, staff and students who are not fully vaccinated to continue to wear face coverings in public settings in order to protect themselves and others who are not vaccinated. You can visit the CDC website for more information about COVID-19 vaccines.

As more people are vaccinated, guidance evolves and mandates lift in response, we can increasingly expect to see situations in public where some people are wearing masks and some are not. It is important to acknowledge that these are personal decisions that each of us must make based on our individual circumstances.

We have worked hard to keep UHV and UHV Katy as safe as possible. We realize many of you may still have questions. Please refer to the UHV COVID-19 website. We are continually updating the website to reflect the latest changes.

As was previously announced, UHV and UHV Katy will transition to Phase 4 on June 1. Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate through these changes. I look forward to seeing you in person as we start transitioning back to campus.

Sincerely,
Bob Glenn
