Fall Face-to-Face Classes Email from UHV Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs Chance Glenn
As we wrap up our spring semester, I wanted to let you know about the plans we are making for upcoming the fall semester.
More and more Texans are becoming vaccinated, so it is becoming safer to venture back into public spaces. First of all please allow me to encourage you to get vaccinated if you have not already done so. The more people who do this, the safer we will all be as we make plans to get back together on campus. We will have a vaccination site on campus in Victoria in the fall, but I encourage you to take steps to get vaccinated sooner if possible.
When you return this fall, you will find a number of face-to-face courses available to you. Currently, most core courses have sections that will meet face-to-face, at least in the hybrid mode, and we are working to ensure that all core courses will have this option for fall. We are also working to bring a wide variety of upper division courses back on campus. We currently have 140 courses that will have an on-campus presence in Victoria and 55 that will have an on-campus presence in Katy.
If you are interested in finding courses that include a campus presence, look for “Person, F2F”, “hybrid”, or “ITV-Closed Circuit TV” in the course notes on the fall schedule. All of these modes mean that the professor and students will be on campus together. In some cases, we may have to limit seating to ensure social distancing. We expect to be in Phase 4 of our reopening plan by the fall. Masks will continue to be worn in classrooms and in the public spaces on campus unless otherwise designated.
Thank you for your patience as we have all worked together during this pandemic.
