COVID-19 Actions from UHV COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jessica Helms
Dear UHV Faculty, Staff and Students,
I hope everyone is continuing to feel safe and well this fall semester. As a reminder, the UHV COVID-19 website has a lot of information on it that is imperative that everyone review and make sure they understand so that we can continue to have a successful academic year.
What to Do if I am Sick is one of the most important pages as it states what students and employees should do if they have a fever, cough or any other COVID-19 symptoms. If you do develop COVID-19 symptoms or receive a positive COVID-19 test, there are several important actions you MUST take:
- Stay at home and do not come to class or work on campus in Victoria or at UHV Katy.
- Students living in a residence hall in Victoria should notify their Resident Assistant, while students living off campus should notify the COVID-19 response coordinator at email@example.com.
- Employees should notify their supervisor.
- Complete the Diagnosis Reporting form.
As a reminder, students and employees also must fill out the Potential COVID-19 Exposure Reporting form if they have been exposed to someone who has been lab-confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19 or if they recently have traveled to an international destination. The Request to Return to Campus form must be filled out before returning to campus after self-quarantine or isolation.
I encourage you to contact myself or Tara Vaughn in the UHV COVID-19 Operations Center at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Last, I encourage students to attend the virtual event Stress Management for COVID-19 presented by the UHV Counseling Center from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17. If you have any questions, contact Chanel Hicks at email@example.com.
Stay safe, and have a great semester!
UHV COVID-19 Response Coordinator
