Campus Incident from UHV President Bob Glenn
Dear UHV Faculty, Staff and Students,
I know that many of you are feeling anxious about all the news about COVID-19. Consequently, I intend to be transparent with you about any news that we have at UHV.
On Tuesday afternoon, an employee who works on the second floor of the UHV University Center self-reported that on March 15 he had been around a person who later tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee is not showing symptoms and has not been contacted by the health department. The employee was immediately instructed to stay home and not return to campus until March 30.
Other people who made contact with the employee also were instructed to stay home and not come to campus for the next 14 days. All of those employees also are not showing symptoms of COVID-19.
The areas in UHV University Center where the employee was working and the second-floor restroom that this person used has been thoroughly disinfected.
We must continue to communicate as a university community about possible exposure and keep practicing good hygiene and social distancing. Please continue to monitor the university’s COVID-19 webpages for the most up-to-date information.
