Wearing a Mask is the New Norm Email to Students from UHV Vice President for Student Affairs Jay Lambert

Good Morning, Jaguars!

I hope you all are excited as I am about the new semester starting tomorrow, but I also hope you will be cautious.

I know most of you will be taking classes virtually, but for those living on campus and/or attending classes face-to-face, it is vital that you pay attention to the policies and procedures that are in place. These can be found on the COVID-19 website. They also can be found in the COVID-19 training under Tasks in myUHV Self Service.

For those coming to campus, it is important that you follow the face coverings policy. Although your face-to-face professors will do everything they can to ensure that everyone is 6 feet apart, masks will be required at all times. This requirement is for everyone’s safety and will be enforced. If you feel strongly about not wearing a mask, you should attend class through the real-time online option.

If you have a medical condition that hinders your ability to wear a mask, please reach out to Disability Services for an accommodation. Please understand that an accommodation must be in place before you come to campus.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know so I can help.

Jay Lambert, Ed.D.
Vice President for Student Affairs
