Update on COVID-19 positive test on campus
Dear UHV Students, Faculty and Staff,
I wanted to let everyone know that a student coordinator in the JP’s Market student food pantry has tested positive for COVID-19 and is in quarantine. The individual went into quarantine Thursday.
Twelve students, including 11 UHV students, were in the food pantry during the same time as the student coordinator. Contact tracers from UHV and VC have contacted each of the students. Although they were in the same room, they did not have close contact with the affected student. In addition, all students were wearing masks, and many also were wearing gloves. The students also said that the coordinator was wearing a mask at all times. Based on this information, these students do not have to self-quarantine, as they are not direct exposures based on CDC guidelines.
Please continue to refer to the university’s COVID-19 website, where you can read more about prevention measures and get answers to your frequently asked questions. A Coronavirus Self-Checker from the Centers for Disease Control is now available and has been added as a blue button on the bottom of the COVID-19 homepage.
