Why UHV’s Undergraduate Accounting Program?

Do you want to turn your attention to detail and affinity for numbers into a lucrative career with plenty of room for growth? If so, the Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at the University of Houston-Victoria might be the perfect fit for you.

As part of the BBA Accounting program, you will gain extensive knowledge about how financial information is recorded and reported in businesses. This includes learning about expense allocations, asset valuation, tax liability, foreign currency translation and much more.

You will learn how to prepare financial reports so you can provide companies and individuals with the information they need to operate in an effective way and stay on top of their finances.

Once you have completed the program, you’ll be able to sit for the CPA exam.

First Step to Your Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification

The CPA is a prestigious accounting certification and is a requirement of many accounting jobs. Your BBA in Accounting is an important first step to achieving your CPA. As part of the program degree requirements, you will take the required courses and learn many of the topics covered in the CPA exam. The BBA in Accounting also gives you 120 credit hours of the 150 required to sit for the CPA.

Upon graduation, you can continue with either UHV’s Master of Accountancy or Strategic MBA Program to become “150 ready” for the CPA exam.
