About Interim Dean Charles R. B. Stowe

Charles R. B. Stowe served as a tenured professor at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville,
Texas for 34 years before becoming the professor of management and dean of Lander University’s College of Business in Greenwood, S.C in 2010. Under his tenure, the college was re-accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction held by less than 5 percent of all business schools, including the UHV School of Business Administration.

While at Lander University, he helped increase enrollment by 25 percent, developed faculty certification and training workshops for online teaching, and worked with faculty to develop strategic plans for the school. As a Colonel in the SC Joint Services Detachment a unit of the South Carolina Military Dept., Stowe gained some expertise in emergency management and helped launch the 7th online Master of Science Degree in Emergency Management in the nation.

Stowe holds a doctorate in management from the University of Warsaw in Poland, a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston, a master’s in management from the University of Dallas, and a bachelor’s in political science from Vanderbilt University.
