Esther Liberman Cuenca specializes in the history of medieval and early modern Britain. She received her PhD in History from Fordham University. Her current book project, The Making of Urban Law in Medieval and Reformation Britain, focuses on the development of law in British towns from the twelfth to the sixteenth centuries. Her scholarship has been published in Urban History, Studies in Medievalism, and The Digital Medievalist, and she has upcoming publications in Popular Music and The Local Historian.
Her research interests include the history of medieval Britain, law, urbanization, and medievalism (i.e., the middle ages in popular culture), and her teaching interests vary widely, ranging from medieval and modern Europe to global history, gender, and film.
