Dr. Brent Lang joined the UHV faculty in 2019, after completing his doctoral internship at Baylor College of Medicine and DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston.

He earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University, where he also completed an M.A. in Clinical Psychology. He obtained a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Spanish from Saint Louis University.

He has extensive clinical experience in behavioral medicine in both inpatient and outpatient medical settings. His clinical interests include substance use disorder treatment, crisis intervention, behavioral medicine, and psychotherapy for monolingual Spanish speakers. His research interests include stigma and treatment of substance use disorders, behavioral medicine, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
