Yes. Students using the Amazon Career Choice benefits may apply for any of our FastTrak programs, as well as any other traditional program.
To apply to a class or program, a student must register with both Amazon Career Choice and also with the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV). To be admitted to UHV, an employee must first complete an admissions application online at https://prod.applytexas.org/ and submit copies of official transcripts to our admissions office. To register with Amazon Career Choice, the student will visit AmazonCareerChoice.com and find the University of Houston-Victoria on the list of eligible schools. Employees must apply for funding through the voucher process at least two weeks before the start of the program.
UHV offers classes online, at the teaching center in Katy, TX or at its main campus in Victoria, TX. Students can choose from a long list of bachelor’s or master’s degree programs that can be completed fully online, hybrid through a combination of in-person and online, or fully in-person during the evenings at the Katy teaching center or in Victoria. Our online classes offer traditional semester or 8-week FastTrak courses.
As of January 1, 2022, full-time employees are eligible for the maximum benefit of $5,250 per year with no lifetime maximum. Part-time employees are eligible for a benefit of $2,625 per year with no lifetime maximum. Through Career Choice, Amazon will pre-pay 100% of tuition, fees, and textbooks up to the employees’ maximum eligibility. The Associate is responsible for any amount over their maximum benefit.
Associates request Amazon pre-pay by obtaining a tuition voucher to use at a Career Choice approved educational partner. The student completes their portion of the voucher and provides the voucher to the school on or before the first day of class by either 1) e-signing and emailing it or 2) printing, signing, and delivering it to the school. The school then completes their portion and returns it to Amazon for auto-pay.
