Special offerings for graduate students
Keep on Roarin’ Program
The University of Houston-Victoria created the Keep on Roarin’ program to help encourage UHV alumni to continue their studies and qualify for auto-admissions for certain programs.
To qualify, you must meet the following:
- Be a UHV alumni
- Graduate with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Complete a graduate admissions application for a participating program
Admitted students can qualify for a $1,000 alumni scholarship.
18+ Program
The 18+ program was created for teachers and aspiring teachers who have completed a bachelor’s degree and who wish to complete the requirements for faculty credentials to teach dual credit courses.
Choose from one of our four pathways:
1. Discipline courses only – For teachers with a master’s degree who only need 18 credits in a discipline area of study
2. M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction – Higher Education and Secondary Education pathway for teachers who wish to complete a master’s degree in education, while completing the discipline course requirements.
3. M.Ed. in Adult and Higher Education pathway for teachers who think they may want to teach in a college setting in the future.
4. M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction – Higher Education and Secondary Education with Teacher Certification pathway for aspiring teachers who wish to become certified to teach, while completing a master’s degree in education and also complete the discipline course requirements.

Can I transfer earned graduate coursework into a graduate program at UHV?
Some graduate programs at UHV may allow you to transfer a small number of graduate-level coursework. Please check with the program’s college to determine whether or not your completed coursework may transfer. Please note that you will likely need a course description and a course syllabus, unless the coursework was completed at UHV.
